Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  How soon can you buy my house?
A:  Every situation is different. We can close as quickly as the title company will allow. Some cases this means as little as a week, however typically it does take a couple of weeks to have everything ready.

Q:  When do I actually get paid?
A:  We close all properties with a reputable local title company. This means that we will not be showing up at your house with a briefcase full of cash. This is a legal process that is closed by the title company to ensure that everyone is "following the rules". What this means, is that as soon as all the documents are signed, the title company will confirm receipt of funds and then complete the transaction paperwork. Bottom line though, we don't own the property until you get your money from the title company.

Q:  What fees do I have to pay?
A:  You don't! We pay all closing costs, the only items that will be deducted from the sales price are any outstanding liens on the property (ex. mortgages, tax liens, judgments, probate costs, tax prorations). We pay all recording fees and title insurance as well. We will go over all of these things and answer any additional questions about your situation.

Q:  My house is in bad shape (need updating, repairs, cluttered) what do I have to fix?
A: Nothing! We buy houses in any condition. This means that you get to take the personal items you wish to keep and walk away after closing. We factor in all repairs, debris removal and property clean-up that are needed into our offer.

Q:  What do you do with my contact information? I don't want to get Spammed!
A: Your information is kept secure with Sailfish Coastal Properties. We do not sell or distribute your information to any outside organization. This means you will only hear from us, and we offer several different contact options to fit your preference (phone, text, e-mail and even online chat!)

Q:  Do I have to accept your offer?
A: Nope! We will work with you to find the right solution for you and your family. But, this is your decision, and we respect that. Our goal is to help people, and if our solution doesn't work for you, we will try to offer you additional avenues to pursue.
